Oh boy is it late and am I wiped out. It's been a long, but pretty good day. I started the day with some hoops and after coming home to clean myself up, I ran over to Borders to pick up a gift for my mommy. After that, I hustled over to the coffee house to do some schoolwork. It was peer review day and wow, I don't know how some teachers do it. I had two papers from classmates that I had to read, review and offer some feedback on. I know that I'm not the greatest writer in the world, but wow, were these papers terrible. One was really poorly written, was full of grammatical mistakes, had no thesis and sort of wandered aimlessly. The second also had some grammatical issues, had a thesis statement but the body of the paper wandered around and ended up being completely unconnected from the thesis. Not only that, but it was historically inaccurate! I'm not an expert on the Crusades or medieval Christian/Muslim relations, but I know a little bit. And this paper absolutely did not jibe with what I know. Also, this guy made some really broad, very general statements and yet offered no supporting evidence. I don't want to be completely negative, but there really aren't a lot of positives that I can point out to them. Ehhhh.... I'll come up with something nice to say.
After coming home from the coffee house this evening, I had a little dinner and then my sister and I started pre-cooking the meal we've got planned for mommy tomorrow. I'm making a creme brulee french toast, so I put it all together and have to let it sit all night. We made a couple of fruit bowls, my sister made a crustless quiche and we put together a few other things. It should be a nice day tomorrow. And it's going to beat taking her out to the place we normally take her to on Mother's Day.. no crowds and a much more relaxed atmosphere at the parentals place.
So I'm going to go to bed now. I've got to be up relatively early tomorrow. But a friend had asked me to relate my Amsterdam story. I know that some of ya'll have already heard it and it's a bit lengthy, so I'll drop it under a rock.
( My Amsterdam Adventure )I also just wanted to say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you mommies out there!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
