I'd originally planned on writing about the Easter Festivities today, but in light of this evening's news, I felt this would be a more appropriate use of this post.
Four U.S. soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in
Baghdad today pushing the number of our troops killed to 4,000.
That's 4,000 of America's sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters that will never again see home. That's 4,000 men and women that will never again get to have an Easter day celebration with their families.
I'm saddened, heartsick and incredibly angry. This war that never should have been started in the first place needs to end. And it needs to end now. Our troops should not be put in harm's way to enhance the profit margins of these multinational corporations. Our troops should not be asked to lay down their lives so that some fat CEO can pull a larger bonus check.
End this war and bring our troops home now.
