This is just absolutely brilliant. The... ahem... "record setting" 756th home run ball hit by Barry Bonds has been purchased by fashion designer Marc Ecko for $752,467 and now, the fate of that ball is up to we the people.

“I wanted the ball to democratize the ball and to give the ball to the people, to give the ball to America.”

To that end, Ecko has set up a website, vote756.com where he gives us three options for the fate of the ball.

The first option is to donate the ball to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York as is.






The second option is to brand the ball with a large asterisk and then send it to Cooperstown.






And the third option is to load the ball aboard a rocket and launch it deep into space where it will be gone forever.








Personally, I voted for option number 2. I don't think that ball deserves to sit in a place of honor in the Hall, nor do I think it should be shot into space forever. I want that big ol' asterisk branded on that bad boy so that every man, woman and child that passes through the Hall and sees Barry's Balls will forever be reminded that he is a 'roid freak, a cheater and not the rightful Home Run King. That honor, so far as I'm concerned, still belongs to Hammerin' Hank Aaron.

So get on out there and rock the vote, folks! Tell Marc Ecko what to do with Barry's Balls!

In other news...

It's official. I am tired. This new schedule is going to whoop my ass. We're only what, 2 weeks in and I'm already draggin' ass. And don't look now, but the Stupid Gene in my head has kiked in and the thought has been running through my mind all day that I need to change my thesis topic. More on that as it develops.

And lastly, I wish to thank the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins for finishing my day on a very high note. Because those two teams combined for 32 points in tonight's game and because I chose 37 total combined points, I have won this week's pool to the tune of 200 bucks. Now if only my Raiders hadn't gotten shafted because Mike Shanahan and the Denver Broncos are a bunch of bush league douchebags, I'd be a super happy boy right now. But alas, Mike Shanahan and the Denver Broncos are in fact, a bunch of bush league douchebags and so my happiness is not hitting the redline right now.
